It is with deep sadness that I must tell all of you that Paul Replogle passed away in the early morning hours of Saturday, January 17th. He had a stroke in the middle of December and never fully recovered.I will most remember the card games that we would play together. He taught me how to play euchre very well (some claim I cheat). My brother and I would go to their house for a few games. He and grandma would be partners, and grandpa and I. We won more games than we lost...we were just that good.
He served, and somehow miraculously survived WWII. Upon returning to the states he took Mary to be his bride. For nearly the next 50 years they were husband and wife, mom and dad, grandma and grandpa, and best friends. During that time they had 6 children. Mary left us in 2001.
He may be gone but he is definitely not forgotten. You see, Nathan's middle name is Paul, named after his great grandpa Replogle. I remember when we told him that Nathan would be named after him; he smiled, asked why you would want to do that to the kid; and smiled again. I am sorry that he never got to meet his great-grandson.
Say hello to Grandma and Uncle Steve for me......and don't beat too many people in Euchre.
