Edna Wiechman 1917-2014

It is with great sadness that I must tell you all the Melissa's Grandma passed away early Wednesday morning in West Point, Nebraska.  She was 97 years old.  We would go out to Nebraska every August to visit her and this year we did the same.  In July she had moved out of her apartment and into a nursing home, but she was still as sharp as ever.  Honestly, this kind of came a surprise since we just saw her a little over a month ago and she was doing well.
She really looked forward to the whole family coming out in August because that meant she got to see a lot of her great-grandkids.  It took a while for 'baby Nathan' to warm up to her but he finally did sit on her lap.

This was when she met Kristen for the first time.

This was with Robin's son, Evan, taken a little over a month ago.

She always seemed to have some gifts for all her grandkids and would always buy them some ride tickets to use at the fair.  We learned to leave some space in the suitcases so the kids could bring back their gifts.
She always asked for a picture of her with the grandkids.  Some turned out better than others :-)
Melissa and I will be heading out to Nebraska for the funeral.  A big thanks to my parents who will be watching Nathan and Kristen. She was a very special lady who was loved by all, known by all, and will be missed by all.
